Research Experience

2026 – Present

Independent Researcher

“Before the Factory Opens: Anticipation and Spatial Adjustment to Announced and Delayed Local Shocks”

  • Develop a continuous-time spatial mean field game with coupled HJB–KFE equations to study anticipatory migration following Intel’s announced Ohio semiconductor investment.
  • Calibrate an exact discrete inverse equilibrium to 969,829 Census LODES worker residences, incorporating BLS QCEW data and publicly announced project employment and pay.
  • Estimate that roughly 46.7% of eventual model-implied spatial adjustment occurs before the initially expected opening; model later information revisions to quantify partial reversal after project delays.
  • Extend the model to two-dimensional geography with extensive numerical and structural robustness analysis; 2D geography reduces predicted reallocation by about 16% while leaving the timing result nearly unchanged.
  • Presented at the Kentucky Economic Association Annual Conference, October 2026.

Jan 2026 – May 2026

Honors Thesis Researcher

University of Louisville

  • Investigated how educational technology use-cases affect achievement in mathematics, reading, and science using the 2018 PISA dataset.
  • Built a cross-country PISA sample accounting for differences across assessment booklets; estimated multivariate regression models and marginal effects with external controls.
  • Ran variance inflation factor diagnostics and additional robustness checks.
  • Found home technology to be the strongest statistically significant technology-related predictor of achievement, with socioeconomic status explaining a substantial share of the relationship.
  • Defended before a three-member faculty committee; presented at the Kentucky Economic Association Annual Conference, October 2026.

Teaching

Sept 2026 – Present

Private Tutor, Intermediate Macroeconomics

  • Recommended by faculty to tutor students in intermediate macroeconomics.
  • Clarify model specifications, assumptions, and how variables connect across models.
  • Improved the first student’s quiz grades by 200% after two hours of tutoring.

Honors & Awards

Aug 2025 – Present

Center for Free Enterprise Scholarship

Selected for multiple semesters of study in economics, political economy, and entrepreneurship, including meetings with economists, NBER staff, nonprofit organizations, and faculty from other universities.

Aug 2025 – May 2026

President’s Council Mentoring Program

One of 40 top-performing sophomores and juniors selected university-wide for an executive mentorship program. Shadowed two neurosurgeons in monthly clinical and surgical observations, discussing medical economics, hospital operations, and U.S. healthcare system dynamics.

Seminars & Competitions

June 2026

University of South Carolina Summer Seminar

The Trivium of the Liberal Arts Tradition in Theory & Practice

Selected by faculty recommendation for a 15-member seminar of mostly graduate students and practitioners. Read The Odyssey in Ancient Greek alongside classical texts on logic and rhetoric, and advised classical academy founders on curriculum, classroom structure, and technology policy using thesis findings.

Apr 2026

Data Analyst, The 2026 EconGames

24-hour data-driven business case competition

  • Sole data analyst on an eight-member team competing against 30 university teams.
  • Independently cleaned and analyzed race-level data to compare traditional horse-racing timing with GPS-based tracking.
  • Showed GPS tracking better captured intervals between horses, while traditional timing gave more accurate finishing times.
  • Built a probability model of finishing order for an upcoming race and used it to identify a winning parlay.

Service

Aug 2025 – May 2026

Volunteer, PEACC Center

University of Louisville

Led student outreach at orientation and campus events on prevention and support resources, and prepared materials for outreach activities.
